Sophie approached us with the idea of an interactive extension of Martino Gamper’s “Remakes aus Stühlen” in the collection of the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich. Sophie was fascinated by the way Gamper combines elements of classic chairs into new, surprising forms — playful yet thoughtful experiments in design and authorship. With StuhlTool, we aimed to translate this idea into a digital space, enabling visitors to experience this creative process firsthand. The tool lets users drag and drop chair parts onto a blank surface, rotate and resize them, and create their own “remakes.” It’s both a game and a reflection on how design evolves through combination, reinterpretation, and chance. The tool is currently exhibited at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich.
